Hi Wild Heart Warriors!

Here is a very intimate, raw and vulnerable interview I did (where I truly bare my SOUL) with Front Seat, The Road Back to You Podcast about epigenetics and how birth trauma/wounds can greatly inform aspects of your life. This work and healing are critical for all the work we need to do as a community. When we care for the emotional and physical experience of our mothers and babies, we create communities filled with trust and empathy. When we bring our babies in through trauma, we contribute to wounding that can express as fear, mistrust, pain and even violence. As Anna Verwaal said “It is much easier to build a healthy child than to repair a broken adult.”
.
I also take you on my journey of the loss of my daughter and marriage, where I went through my life’s deepest tragedy to finding my way to working with birth to ultimately help change the world. Monica held a very safe space to share my raw story with you in a way that I believe will offer you hope and excitement in our ability to heal and transform.
.
As we move through a great space of education and awareness in our history and for the fight for racial justice, I hope to shine light on the importance of birth since Black women experience up to 2-3 times more trauma and maternal death rates than white women in this country. It’s very real and it must be addressed. Until we fully realize that everything begins with the way we birth and the way we care for our birthing families, our community wounds and health will continue to be compromised as adults. I think you might have a few “aha” moments as you start to make the connections between birth and who you are today, which will be a great asset to your healing work here. 💫 Link below. 👇🏼

Nowhere To Go But Up Podcast

Podcast Link: Nowhere To Go But Up Interview with Lori Reising

Hello everyone!

I’m so excited to announce that I will be Sean Dustin’s monthly co-host for the variety portion of his show, Nowhere To Go But Up.  The link above is the interview we did so y’all could get to know me a bit.  His podcast talks about people’s bottom struggles and how they were able to rise up from the ashes.  I get into the biggest bottom of my life that spanned by entire 30s and how I found laughter and life again.  We also get into other topics such as podcasting, dating, life lessons and more!  I’m super excited to add in this project and be a part of Sean’s show vision!

Here is a little bit more about the Nowhere To Go But Up podcast in Sean’s words.  “This podcast was inspired by my own journey, and evolution through life, and wanting to share my story as well as stories from regular every day people. I’m a single dad, Union blue collar guy, former drug addict, spent time in Federal and State prison for drug trafficking and fraud. I was released in 2006 with nothing but the clothes on my back, and a bag of mail, and legal paperwork. In 2010 I finally kicked a long time methamphetamine habit, and started the long climb back up the ladder of life. I’m happy to say in 2019 I have managed to navigate myself into a position where i feel confident in sharing my struggles and successes, in the hopes of helping others.”

I hope you tune in to catch us banter since we approach life from vastly different perspectives.  Hopefully we will learn from each other and show the world how there’s room for curiosity and compromise within us all.

Quarantine Real Talk

Quarantine Real Talk

Episode Summary

Today I decided to have candid conversations with several colleagues about their thoughts on the Coronavirus and Quarantine.  This comes in the fourth week of physical distancing.  I wanted to get a feel for how people were moving through their process, personally and professionally.  I just thought it might be good to be a little more informal and vulnerable and raw.  We get into the mental process of the changes, financial fears, explorations of types of grief we may encounter, the environmental impact of a worldwide shut down, acknowledging the need for change in a system that is not supporting it’s citizens, listening to mother nature and so much more.  I want to be clear, though, that these conversations are opinion-based.  Although we are all healthcare professionals, we are not siting studies or data.  We are expressing human experience and thoughts.  I invite you to be curious in your reactions so that you can continue to uncover your own truths in your process and thank you for joining in ours.
